K.C. Beecham is the new AIG teacher at Mt. Ulla Elementary School this year. A graduate of Catawba College and Nova Southeastern University, and a National Board certified teacher, KC has been with Rowan Salisbury Schools since 2004. She is a wife to Rob, mom to Olivia, Will, and Icey Jane, and a licensed foster parent too. She loves Amazon, football, and thrift store shopping! She and her family are looking forward to becoming active in the Mt Ulla community.
Ms. Heilig - Media Coordinator
Julie Heilig is the Media Coordinator for Mt Ullla Elementary Monarchs. Mt Ulla has been her home school for 6 years. She has taught five years in 1st grade and one year in 2nd grade. Her career in education started at Knollwood where she was an Assistant Teacher for four years. She did not always want to be a teacher, she started out her work profession after graduating from UNC-Charlotte at US LEC in the Human Resources Department. She has two beautiful girls that are her life. Bryanna, 16, is a student at South Rowan High School. She is a serious child and works at Food Lion. Autumn, 12, is a student at West Rowan Middle School. She loves to dance and be silly. Ms. Heilig's hobbies include hiking, crossfit, and going on new adventures.
Mrs. Turnbull - ESL
Mrs. Turnbull has taught French and Spanish for three years. This is her 9th year teaching ESL. She has an undergraduate degree from East Carolina and as Master's in Elementary Education from Catawba College.
Mr. Marchinko - PE
This is Mr. Marchinko's 22nd year teaching. He is married to Wendy Marchinko. They have a son Zachary who runs Cross Country and Track for UNCC. Mr. Marchinko was the Head Cross Country and Track Coach at Jesse C. Carson. This year he is in the same role at South Rowan High School. He graduated and ran Cross Country and Track for Kent State University. His hobbies include running and disc golf.
Mrs. Stover - Music
Mrs. Stover grew up in Pennsylvania where most of her family still resides. She graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Music. She moved to Tarboro, NC and began her teaching career at Stocks Elementary school. She taught there for five years until she met her future husband. Then she taught at Statesville Road Elementary school, which is part of CMS for two years. Then they moved to Rowan County where she has taught seven years at Knollwood Elementary as her home base school. She has also taught at Mt. Ulla, Handford Dole, and Morgan on Wednesdays over the years. This will be her eighth year of teaching in this county. She is very excited to begin this year teaching music at Mt. Ulla and Bostian Elementary! She has always taught K-5 and will continue to do so because she loves instilling a love for music in young students. She also has a 5 year old son named Remington (Remy) who will be starting kindergarten this year and is the joy of her life! The Stover family enjoys four-wheeling, hiking, fishing, swimming, and relaxing on the boat.
Mrs. Knox - Guidance Counselor
This is Mrs. Knox's third year as the school counselor at Mt. Ulla Elementary. Before becoming a school counselor, she attended Meredith College to receive her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. She taught 3rd and 4th grade for five years at a school in Wake County, while pursuing her Master's in School Counseling. After completing her degree, she moved back to Rowan County to get married to her husband, to live on his family farm, and to work at Mt. Ulla. In her free time, she loves to take naps, read, and spend time with family and friends.
Ms. Lineberger - Art
Ms. Lineberger has been teaching elementary art in Rowan County for 15 1/2 years, being at China Grove Elementary at least one day a week for all of those years. In addition to China Grove, she has taught at Bostian, Knollwood, Morgan, Isenberg, Overton, and Hurley. She graduated from Pfeiffer University with a BA in Elementary Education and from Lesley University with a Master of Education in Integrated Teaching through the Arts. She has a daughter, Onnie; son, Carson; daughter-in-love, Erica; and grand daughter, Skylar who was born in June. She lives with her dog, Abby and cat, Frankie Sinatra. She loves spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys painting, yard work, baking, swimming, live music, and dancing. She is excited to be at Mt. Ulla this year and looking forward to meeting the students and staff. It’s going to be an awesome year in the art room!!
